Lee was a renowned Farm Security Administration photographer who traveled the country using his talent to bring about change. His stunning images focused on politics, travel, industry, and the human condition. The exhibit runs from Nov. 13 through Dec. 30. The museum is open from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday-Saturday. The Friends of Lakeshore Library present H-E-B’s “Our Texas, Our Future,” a series of documentary films that highlight stories of dedicated Texans and organizations conserving wildlife habitat, landscapes, and parks across the state. Screening is 2-4 p.m. Dec. 1 at the library, 7346 RR 261 in Buchanan Dam. Five short films look at the creation and diversity of the Texas State Parks system as well as tell compelling stories from Texans working to preserve habitats for bats, black bears, ocelots, and redfish. H-E-B worked with Austin-based Fin and Fur Films, an award-winning team led by director and founder Ben Masters, and the films feature original music from the Austin-based band Shane Smith & The Saints. Four turn-of-the-century Marble Falls homes have decked the halls for the 2023 Historic Christmas Home Tour. Now in its 18th year, the tour is an important fundraiser for The Falls on the Colorado Museum. Houses are within a two-block area on Sixth and Seventh streets east of U.S. 281 and can be visited in any order:
- Christian-Matern house, 603 Seventh St., owned by Caryl Calsyn
- E.C. Fowler house, 610 Avenue F, owned by Ollie Ann Baker
- Cox house, 511 Seventh St., owned by Jeanne Allison
- Original First Baptist Church Parsonage, 604 Avenue F, owned by Lori and Randy Rudman
Light refreshments will be provided at each home. Wristband tickets can be purchased at any of the houses on the night of the tour and provide entry to all four locations. Tickets will also be available at the museum, 2001 Broadway in Marble Falls, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Monday-Saturday beginning Nov. 1. Tickets are also sold daily at the Marble Falls Visitor Center, 100 Avenue G. Admission is $15 for adults; children 12 and under are free. Anyone who purchased a single museum membership prior to Oct. 31, 2023, is eligible for one free wristband. Family memberships include two wristbands.
